Northend United U10s 2  Crusaders U10s 1                                          Saturday 14th April 2012

Northend welcomed Irish league Academy side Crusaders to their Dunfane Park base on Saturday, which was a lovely morning for football. Play began with nice football skills from both teams in the opening minutes. However, as the Wee Blues defence was sleeping, the Crues striker nipped in and made it 1-0 in the fifth minute. Northend then centred the ball and started to settle down and play some good flowing football. However the Crues kept pressing forward as well and the Northend keeper, Sean Higgins, made some great saves to keep the Belfast team at bay.
After some great play from the Northend Blues, they were awarded a corner kick, and as Aidan Graffin swung the ball in to the Crues penalty box, their defender hand balled it giving Northend a spot kick. Oisin Connelly stepped up to take the kick and gave the keeper no chance, levelling the score at 1-1.
Just before half time some excellent play for the Blues resulted in Aidan Graffin seeing his shot cannon off the Crues post. With no further scoring, the half-time score remained 1-1.

The second half started with Northend on all-out attack for their second goal, but the Crues defence was keeping them at bay. Northend had chances at the Crues end through Rian Lennon, Josh Coates and company, but they just couldn't get the second goal their play deserved. Crues then pressed forward with Sean Higgins keeping them out with some more good saves.
However Northend began to stamp their authority on the game and got their just reward when Aidan Graffin scored the second, making it 2-1. The Wee Blues dominated the rest of the game with some good football skills for their wining result. This was an excellent footballing performance from all the team.
